Weddings in Hawaii
CONGRATULATIONS! Marriage is a very special occasion filled with joyous and memorable moments. Kahu (minister) Kealoha is here to be of service to you. Initially, the bride and groom will convey the fundamental flow for their wedding ceremony. After listening to those requests, Kahu Kealoha will take it to another level by weaving the bride and groom’s vision with the Hawaiian style blend. It is important that the bride and groom feel satisfied with the complete ceremony.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY
Kahu Kealoha will blow the pu (conch shell) to announce this special union and to call the ancestors to be present. He then leads the bride and bridal party down the aisle while performing an oli (Hawaiian chant) that describes the bride as a beautiful and fragrant blossom. Kahu Kealoha will then chant on behalf of the groom, requesting the bride to take his hand, enjoy sweet conversation and to partake of life's abundance. Kahu Kealoha leads the groom to the bride and she accepts the groom’s hand and they are led to the ceremony site.
HONOR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER
